Hi, this is the first post of Pixume development blog. You might wonder what is Pixume?
The Idea
The idea came when i’m trying to change my personal blog background with the latest photo form my mobile phone. The basic idea is send a MMS to server and the background is change in few minutes. It works, and i’m quite happy with it.
Taking it to next level
I told my little brother(Bat Infomalaya) about the idea to share your mobile images in one place while we going back to our hometown, Seberang Jaya, Penang. We throw some idea to the table and we came out with a name ‘Pixume’. The idea is to develop a platform that can be registered by any users, and they can start sharing their picture just by send it to an email address. It some sort combining Twitter and Flickr together.
Pixume ‘vanished’
On December 2008, with unknown reason, all file on pixume hosting is ‘vanished’. Total images images we have is around 300 pictures, and it lost. After that, Pixume is stopped due to my other works. Now, this project is started back.
Common problem
I’m now using Maxis Postpaid plan and my phone is Sony Ericsson C702. I have no problem sending a mms to an email adress. But i’m sure there is some major problem with other telco and different phone model. I’m still working on that problem, and I would love if someone can contribute your knowledge on how to fix the problem.
Platform
Pixume is developed on Codeigniter PHP Framework.
